Warm Wishes

What's a girl to do with way too much snow piled up and frosty cold temps? Snuggle in and make a warm and cozy card, of course! How about one for The Card Concept, I haven't played along there in far too long.

I mentioned before that I had been doing some crafty cleanup and reorganization. I found a Pointed Pine Needle Frame (MB) already cut and just begging to be used. This cute set of mugs by (IO) fit perfectly inside it. I did a bit of masking to add a shiplap (TE) table and then some pine garland. A little coloring on the mugs and teeny punched flower centers came next. I went with a simple sentiment (PRS) and found the perfect scrap of colorful snowflake paper. My browns are a lighter shade, more like the cinnamon sticks.

I'm calling this one clean and layered. Hope you like it!

Thanks

Hello lovelies! I had some time to get crafty this afternoon and put together this little number for the CAS(E) this Sketch and The Card Concept challenges.

Those pretty hydrangeas, scrumptious fall apples and pumpkins found their way into the sketch! My apple by PTI is from a set of two dies. One solid and this one, the outline and sentiment. I thought it was a fun substitute for the wreath in the sketch. It looks clean and layered to me, how about you?

Hope you like it!

Enjoy the Journey

Here goes nothing... my first post with the new blogger! Actually, it was easier than I thought it would be. Hope it shows up correctly on your end! I've worked on this card in bits and pieces this past week. Virtual kindergarten with Sweet P is going great and she loves it so much, but it keeps me busy!

I put this together for The Card Concept. I was inspired by the sunflowers and the oak table they're sitting on along with the fresh greens and pops of black from the photo. My Carta Bella papers (sentiment too) were layered together with a PFS wreath, PTI sunflowers and patterned leaves (PPP). Lots of layers and clean lines put this in their clean and layered category.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a blessed Sunday!

Love Comforteth...

Hey there! I'm sharing my card entry for The Card Concept today. They have a lovely inspiration photo for Mother's Day.

What's more comforting than a mother's love?  I've been doing the grocery shopping for my parents while they shelter at home. It's one way I can keep them safe. When I rang the doorbell the other day for their drop off, my mom came to the door and said "How's my hero today? You are my hero you know." Oh my goodness, my mom is so precious to me... my dad too of course. To know I can take care of them like this right now brings comfort to me during these difficult times. Their love and gratitude warms my heart. I thank God for them everyday.

I went with a clean and layered card using PTI's Meadow Greens. I layered both stamped and die cut images from the set. The center of the card was masked off before stamping to add interest to my design and leave an area for the sentiment. I like the clean lines the ME mats add to a card. You probably know that though, I use them a lot! A sprinkling of pearls added a touch of elegance. Wait a second... this might fall into the classy and elegant category too, right?

Be well friends, and stay safe.

The Card Concept ~ Woodland Nursery

Hey there! Keeping it light, keeping it happy and playing along at The Card Concept tonight. They're looking for Woodland Nursery cards and I have just the bunny for the occasion!

I purchased this bunny die from Little Inkers not long ago, isn't it the sweetest!  She's fancied up with some MFT rolled roses for spring. Word has it the Easter Bunny is single so she wants to look her best!

Now off I hop to get this in their gallery under the clean and layered category!

Thanks!

Hiya sweet peeps! I was one of those lucky random draw winners of an Altenew gift certificate. I used it on some new dies just before the holidays and am finally getting around to using them. They're making their debut on this card for The Card Concept.

I was inspired by the pearls, gold ornaments and candles winding through the tablescape. I used marshmallow confetti to mimic the pearls, shiny gold cardstock and off white PP.  I think my card falls under two styles ~ clean and layered as well as classy and elegant.

I don't know if the dies are old, new or somewhere in between. But they're new to me and I love them! Isn't the font on the thanks die pretty!

Thanks for visiting today.
You know I love it when you do!

TCC106 ~ Love

Hi friends! Popping in for a quick minute to share my card for The Card Concept challenge. Their pretty inspiration photo caught my eye a couple of days ago and this is what I came up with.

I think this falls under their clean and layered category.

I was inspired by the pink flowers, gold flatware and the little bows on the fortune cookies. See that sweet polka dot napkin under the plate? Brace yourselves, I swapped it out for some heart PP ~ gasp!!

Thanks for taking a peek. Have a wonderful weekend!

Adventure!

My title certainly captures the journey of creating this card. Holy smokes did this one have some twists and turns! It was just one of those days and this simple card took way too long! Anyway, as luck would have it, it fits into a couple of challenges.

I've used this week's CAS(E) This Sketch, colors from The Card Concept and theme from City Crafter Challenge Blog. My balloon and sentiment are by Pretty Pink Posh. The balloon is popped up with foam tape for added interest. I added the dry embossed panel for a bit of whimsy then surrounded it with a thin red mat as a nod to the curtain in the mirror. Hope you like it!

Thanks for visiting!

CC #85 ~ Rustic Blooms!

Hello friends! Thank you to everyone for your comments, emails and prayers for my dad. He's home now and doing well. He'll be enjoying the super bowl tonight in the comfort of his own home under the loving care of my mom!

Now how about a card, shall we! This one is for the rustic blooms challenge at The Card Concept.

I stamped the lovely PTI blooms onto a kraft card base. The Queen Anne's lace was heat embossed using Hero Arts white embossing powder. After die cutting the panel, I scored it to mimic the wood from the inspiration photo. The vellum and round opening are a nod to the glass bottles and little round table.

My card is a combination of two styles. It's clean and layered, but I also think it falls under the category of Classic and Elegant. Hmm, what do you think?

NBUS #12!

Hello sweet peeps! The one and only Darnell (who we all know and love!) is having another of her Never Before Used Schtuff challenges! It just so happens that I had two PTI products to choose from for this event. Here's a little number created with one of them.

I had long admired this quilt die after seeing many of my bloggy friends using it. It's been sitting in my die collection lonely and unused for too long. Time to crank that baby through the machine! I've used up lots of little snippets from one of my all time favorite MME paper collections on this one!

With all of those sweet MME pastel paper bits it fits in at The Card Concept too! I think this one falls into their clean and layered category.

Thanks for visiting! Have a delightful day!

Thank You!

Hi there! I finally found time to make a card yesterday for The Card Concept challenge. I had everything done but the sentiment. I added it and it moved making a blurry image. Totally mess up my card...uuugh...

Not to be defeated, I wasn't about to give up on it. After all, I had found the perfect scrap of ancient Basic Grey paper to use. That scrap became a snippet after card surgery! My card was completely different but so much prettier. I'm happy now! I think going to Mass after the blunder yesterday and a visit from my Sweet P today made everything brighter!

So many lovely things in the inspiration photo caught my eye. I created a clean and layered card based on the overall feminine look of the photo. Various shades of pink and a nod to the polka dots I spied! Do you see them on my card?

Thanks for taking a peek!

The Card Concept #63!

Hi there! I'm sharing my final card as guest designer for The Card Concept today. I've had such a good time sharing my cards with you and their challenge followers. I want to give a BIG thank you to my very sweet blogging friend Tracey McNeely. Thanks for the invitation, you're the bee's knees!!

There are so many wonderful things to drink in from this week's inspiration photo. I was inspired by the plaid chair, the word JOY and all of the wispy pine!

I covered my card base with tan gingham paper. Next came the Inky Antics pine/pine cone border. After stamping it on white cardstock, I die cut one edge with a PPP Stitched Borders 3 die. I've used the PPP Stitched Duo 1 die to get the little rectangles for my letters. I picked up some of the pattern from the quilt draped in the chair. It came in the form of a PPP Stitched Essentials 1 die cut. You'll also see the wee trees from the mantel here! The tiny pine sprigs are by IO and the larger PRS (Oh Christmas). The snowflakes came from my PPP Winter Wonderland set.

Pop over to The Card Concept blog to see what the team has for your viewing pleasure. And come on, you know you love this inspiration photo and want to play along. Better get busy!!

I'll be back a little later with my 12 Kits of Occasions post.
See you soon!

Guesting at The Card Concept!

Hello my sweet peeps! As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I am guesting at The Card Concept this month as a shabby chic designer. When I think of shabby chic, I think of laciness, frilliness, worn edges with bits of bobs of prettiness. This week's inspiration photo didn't seem 'lacy frilly' to me. Instead I saw the opportunity for the bits and bobs to be tucked in!

My eyes fell immediately on the sunflowers in the harlequin vase. Out came my PTI Simple Sunflowers and leaves from their Meadow Greens set. There's an owl in that vase as well, so I added this little guy from Precious Remembrance Shop's Beware Stamp Set. Little acorns are sprinkled throughout the inspiration photo, so I added a few here (DeNami Design). The harlequin paper and vellum were die cut with PPP's Stitched Borders 4 die. My bits and bobs of prettiness came in the form of little black buttons and PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins (6mm & 4mm). I thought the sequins were a good representation of the sparkly glass and silverware in the photo.

Thanks so much for popping in today. Head over to The Card Concept blog to see what fabulousness the Design Team has for you! ~Lisa

Guest Designing at The Card Concept!

I am over the moon excited to be guest designing at The Card Concept this month! My sweet friend Tracey McNeely emailed me the invitation several months ago and the day has finally arrived! I will be sharing cards in the shabby chic category.

I was inspired by everything in this photo!
The colors, flowers, lace and typewriter.
This is what I came up with.

I started with the little typewriter that was in one of my 6x6 paper packs. I embossed a PTI sentiment on it then added my Precious Remembrance Sweet Pea Stamp Set underscore. The decorative papers are from the same pack. I know the typewriter in the photo has silver on it, but gold was calling my name for this card. The border die I used is my favorite of the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched BordersThe gold embossed and green die cut leaves are by PTI. Trimmings found in my stash make up my flowers. The lace bow is some of the last bits of lace left from my floral shop. I might have to save what's left for sentimental reasons!! Finally, some creamy buttons. I mean, what self respecting shabby chic card doesn't have a button or two added in the mx!!

I just love the way this turned out, so feminine and romantic. Thanks for visiting and thanks again Tracey for inviting me! ~Lisa

CC #60 ~ Giving Thanks!

Rain rain go away! What a gloomy soggy day we have. It's the kind of day that makes me want to snuggle in, make a big pot of homemade soup and watch a good movie! I finally had a chance to put some of my colored and die cut pieces of those new Pretty Pink Posh items together a couple of days ago.

I've used the adorable little pilgrims from the new Giving Thanks stamp set along with some pumpkins, acorns and leaves. They're all cut with the coordinating dies. I framed the sentiment with a Scallop Oval die cut. It's tucked behind some patterned paper thats topped with a wood grained paper cut with a Stitched Borders 4 die.

Since this has some orange chevrons, leaves and pumpkins, I think I'll link it up at The Card Concept.  I also have the blueish green from the window view in the inspiration photo. I had this card made before ever seeing that photo. Funny how well it worked for the challenge! I would say this fits into their clean and layered category, how about you?

Have a wonderful weekend ~Lisa

Happy Birthday!

Saturday greetings! Boy oh boy is it cold or what? How many days till spring ~ hee! I'm taking advantage of the cold as an excuse to stay in, stay warm and get inky. I'm playing along with The Card Concept today, they're celebrating their fist anniversary. And I couldn't wait to use this pretty sketch by Amy for Freshly Made Sketches. Hope you like it!

I think my card falls into the clean and layered category at TCC. I focused on the many shades of pink, flowers and stripes from the inspiration photo. I used my new RC circle garland to mimic the beads coming from the box. The 4mm & 6mm Marshmallow & 4mm & 6mm Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh are sprinkled about to represent the babies breath. My little cluster of roses and sentiment are DeNami Design stamps. My rose matches the darker pink garland, but it's sure not photographing that way!

I would like to give a big warm welcome to my newest followers!
Thanks for joining me in this blogging journey of mine.
Have a great weekend ~Lisa
