Happy New Year!

Hi there! Hope everyone is enjoying this New Years Day! Is blustery, rainy and cold here, so we're snuggled in together having a quiet day. My crock pot is full of yummy stuffed cabbage making the house smell delicious!

Many bloggers are posting a year in review of the past twelve months. Since starting my blog in April, I don't have a full year to share! But I thought I would take a trip down memory lane none the less. This was the first card posted on my blog. I started my blog wondering if anyone other than a few family members would visit.

I must say that the DT over at Papertrey Ink were my inspiration to even begin doing this! I had discovered their company somewhere on the web (I really don't remember ~ it was a link through a link through a link kind of thing ~HA!)  Once getting my little blog set up I got the nerve up to enter cards into their Make it Monday and Blog Hop events. This was my first entry using one of their MIM techniques!

Through them came a sweet blogging friend Cyndie of Artful Haven. She nominated me for the Liebster blog award and I actually gained some followers! There were really people out there who wanted to follow my work, come on...was someone pulling my leg!!! I really feel I owe Cyndie a bigger thank you than I can ever really express.

Cyndie suggested I enter a card I had made into CR84FN's color challenge and this is where my story began with them!

My sweet sister-in-law (aka: my stamping buddy) and I had shopped at the annual stamping convention for many years and that's where I discovered DeNami Design. Who knew they had a blog and they held stamping challenges as well! So this was my first entry with them!

Somewhere along the line while visiting other blogs I discovered the Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday challenge and entered this card.

I discovered the Play Date Cafe challenge and earned my first recognition through them!

Flourishes and Mojo Monday gave me inspiration and more entries. Along with what still proves to be a challenge for me ~ the clean and simple style at CAS -ual Fridays!

The Polka Dot Door will always hold a very special place in my heart. Unexpected recognition from them that led to my dream come true to be a guest designer! A warm happy sigh every time I think about them.  I had THE MOST FUN making this challenge entry!

And my guest designer entry was a fun (long thought out!) project rather than a card!

I look forward to another year of blogging. To enjoying all of the many talents and wonderful inspirations I discover visiting other blogs. To seeing the smiling faces of my sweet followers on my blog page everyday.  And to continuing this journey with the support and encouragement that comes from the delightful comments I so appreciate.

Happy New Year friends...here's to celebrating you! ~Lisa

Lisa that you for posting some memories. First of all you have a lot of people following you now and I am proud to be one of them. Thank you for nominating me for the Leibster Blog Award in June, like you I really didn't think anyone would notice my humble blog. Now on to today's memories can I say your first card ever posted is so stinkin cute, I love the genie. Looking forward to you continuing to inspire me in 2012 my sweet blog friend.

I did not know you started your blog in April , Lisa . Your cards are so beautiful , I think my favorite might be the one with the candy. I love the banner too. Thanks for all your sweet comments on my blog. I was wishing for cold, make a fire kind of days. It's 80 degrees here, beautiful but warm. . Take care .
