Hello friends! I have a sweet card today that I've made for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday. This week is A la Carte; choosing one of the 2011 MIM techniques that we didn't have a chance to try. Having a go at making my own thick chipboard accent (as demonstrated in the MIM#34 video by Erin Lincoln) was quite easy and very fun!
I started by covering my card with this delightful paper from Basicgrey. I think I bought a few sheets of this a couple of years ago. It's such a sweet pattern with the prettiest colors. Next I added an ivory die cut Worn Greetings label from MFT with the matching die cut oval using some Authentique paper. My Simple Sunflower from PTI was die cut 4 times ~ 3 from thin cardboard and 1 from cardstock. I used their new Autumn Rose ink (so pretty!) to stamp my sunflower and a lighter pink chalk ink (Rouge) for the center. I pierced a hole in my homemade chipboard element and attached my PTI tiny tag die cut with a glitzy brad.
That about does it...hope you like it! Have a beautiful day ~Lisa

This is so pretty, and you picked one of my favorite techniques from last year. Love love love those thicker chipboard accents. That sunflower looks really good in Autumn Rose.
Beautiful card, Lisa! I love the way you matched the patterned paper. ;)
Oh, cute! Those are some lovely colors and patterns you've got there. I used that same PTI set and die back when I did this MIM challenge! It's such a versatile set. Love your tiny heart punched from the tag!
OK- so your stamping on the die cut looks perfect!! I must definitely be doing something wrong!
So many of those videos I missed thru the year. I should go and review them.
