Beautiful blues and sunny yellows are the colors of choice for the Play Date Cafe challenge going on this week. We've certainly had our share of sunny blue skies this winter, no complaining here!
Usually I like to pick something from the inspiration picture to help when designing my card. But this week I'm going on color alone and have based my card on some info from a super sweet blogging friend. Marie from Ink'd Wings told me she has daffodils peeking out of the ground already! She laughed at the rude awakening they may be in for with their early arrival! SO this one's for you Marie to brighten your day while stamping in your butterfly garden!!
I started with a fun shaped card I've had on hand for a while. It's made by doodlebug design; purchased at Archivers. My daffodils by PSX are stamped and die cut using a PTI limitless layers circle and framed with a sweet polka dot paper by Lasting Impressions (scalloped die from the same set). I stamped and fussy cut several of the daffodils to embellish my sentiment banner. This sweet sentiment is Stampendous. A sprinkling of gems and a glitter pen might just wake those silly daffodils up to a frosty reality!! My trio of butterflies were made with a Martha Stewart punch. Or perhaps they've escaped from Marie's butterfly garden ~ hee!
Take care friends ~Lisa

You did brighten my day--it's a lovely card. I love the addition of bling--it adds so much!
Love it, I just love those daffodils they make me think of spring. Great job with the colours Lisa.
love the daffodil yellow!
So beautiful with the way you've incorporated the shaped card base!
How cute, Lisa! No butterflies are missing from my garden and the joke is on the daffodils...we got about 6 inches of snow today so the 'frosty' reality is definitely in order. Boy oh boy did this brighten my day! I simply love how you can combine so many different elements and creat such a beautiful eye catching card. Think spring!!
Lisa, I just adore those daffodils!!! :) LOVE it--I've made my card, just waiting to post for another day--it was marathon stamping weekend here! ;) LOVE the blue pearls woven through your card, too! LOVE it!!! :)
Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog Lisa - love your shaped card and the little bit of sparkle on your daffodils!
Lovely Lisa! That card is such a great shape too!
Hello Lisa! Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog! These beautiful colors make me want Spring! Your card says Spring for sure. So pretty the way you combined the flowers and shapes! Lovely design!
Beautiful! ;-) We received about 5 inches of snow this morning, which makes me feel, like, BLAH - really. Winter is definitely not my favorite season. This card is so pretty, though. I love the shade of blue you used, it's perfect for those gorgeous flowers. And the gems and buttons are just so sweet. I love this card. ;-)
I love how you took your inspiration from your friend's garden, Lisa! I see some daffodils poking up around here in NJ too, and if we get snow (well, more snow; we had a coating here yesterday), I hope they don't get upset. ;)
I like the shape of that card! wish we had an Archivers store around here. All in all, a very sweet card, and I like to read your posts, too. :)
Thanks so much for playing with us at The Play Date Cafe this week. :)
