Hi there ~ I hope everyone had an enjoyable 4th of July holiday! Ours was very low key with the heat at 100...ughhhh.
When it's that hot there is just no ambition to do much of anything. My guys all went on a charter boat fishing trip yesterday and my hubs is one worn out fella who is currently catching some zzzz's!!!
Air conditioning and card making for me work out pretty well though!
This week at the Play Date Cafe they have what I consider to be an elegant color pallet ~ gold, nude and silver. I usually don't go for metallics but I thought this would make a great wedding card. And it's always a good idea to step away from your comfort zone now and again! To take a bit of that pressure off I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches.
I layered a vellum panel with silver scrolls on it over a flesh colored cardstock. Next came the metal corner pieces and then a flesh panel with two silver embossed strips of vines by Impression Obsession. I tied some old gold tulle around the card then popped my final panel up with foam tape. This one is stamped with the sentiment from Stampabilities and layered with PTI filigree borders and a trio of gold gems. My tulle bow looked lonely so I glammed it up with and old gold silk flower, cut glass glittered key, silver twine and a MFT mini rolled rose. I'm happy with the elegant look this has and that it's not too fussy!
Thanks for visiting today, I hope you'll stop by tomorrow for a new colour combo from Dynamic Duos! ~Lisa

Oh, very elegant! That is a gorgeous key and amazing the way you presented it. Beautiful card!
This is so beautiful Lisa, I love that ribbon and sparkly key. The silver embossing is the perfect finish.
Let's not talk about the heat. It was 110* here today. GROSS. Instead, let's talk about this stunning card! GORGEOUS bow and glittery key! LOVE your little pink rolled flower, too! This is so elegant, Lisa! :)
Gorgeous! Love the elegant look of your card. Beautiful bow and fancy schmancy... key! Love that die cut in the center too.
Alright, I'm deleteing my entry for The PDC....this is seriously gorgeous! I'm drooling over this card, Lisa! The bow, key and layered die cut is amazing!
Jeepers, Lisa--how BEAUTIFUL this card is! From the delicate lacy silver embossing to the sparkly key, I just love it all!
I hear ya about the heat: today will be our 10th day in a row of triple digit temps (NOT normal for our area!). It is probably heading your way, but the end is in sight, according to the weather mavens. Stay cool, good buddy!
So pretty Lisa. Love the way you used the colors... the sparkly key is awesome!
simply fabulous!

THANKS for playing along with us over at the PDCC:)
I like that glass-glittered key, Lisa! It does help dress up the flower beautifully. I spy some tulle on here, too. I just used tulle on a card I made yesterday. Glad I saved all my tulle...it's from my wedding (heavens, that's a while ago!) but is coming in handy. :)
Stay cool, and thanks for playing with us this week at The Play Date Cafe. :)
