Why be Normal!

Hi there! It's day two of the Design Team introductions at The Creative Paper Trade and today you have a chance to meet Geri Freeman! She's put together the sweetest little gift for her daughter. Remember to leave a comment after visiting for a chance at one of the prizes being offered this week. In addition to the prizes Andrea has a cute free digi available for you to download and use to create something fun. I took this little gem and ran with it!

Now just tell me what could be more unique that a polka dot Mummy ~ HA! I made myself an armature out of a coat hanger then wrapped it with stretched out cotton balls (I didn't have any fiber fill or batting ~ but hey they worked like a charm!). Next I wrapped torn strips of muslin kinda of willy nilly like I thought a mummy might look! I've never seen one in person, so I was taking a wild guess. To make my little spook "unique" I wrapped it in some of Andrea's fabric ribbon. Imagine the pitter patter of my little heart when she sent me a polka dot strip of this to work with...SWOON!!! I used the last smidge of it to make a shabby bow to adorn her little petrified head. Hmmm ...I guess with the polka dots, bow and rosy cheeks this would be a girl mummy ~ heee!

I printed the digi at 2" x 2", cut the border off and rounded two corners. Next came the tiny button and then I threaded some red button twine through it along with two tiny pennants I made from scraps. A couple of vintage safety pins and muslin bows hold my banner in place. I'm thrilled with the way this turned out and it's my first Halloween project this year! This little lady stands 6 & 1/2" tall.

Thanks for popping in to visit today and a big thank you to all who left some love on the CPT blog for my intro yesterday. Thanks to my friends who have become followers of the new blog and a big welcome to my new followers! ~Lisa
