FFC #5 ~ Very Merry!

You know one would think that on April 3rd we would have spring in the air...am I right. What's up with the chill in the air! I'm ready for the flowers to bloom, the sun to warm our days and the nip in the air to say bye bye until next fall...late next fall! But the cool days did put me in the mindset to play along with the Festive Friday challenge. If you haven't heard of this challenge you should check it out. It's all about Christmas cards being made in advance before all of the holiday rush kicks in! This is what I made using the pretty colors of blush, aqua and gold.

Edit: This card was chosen for publication in the November issue Of Create: Christmas Cards!

These soft colors seemed perfect for this darling Stampendous stamp. I just love the precious little girls in their snuggley warm coats and angel wings!! I simply stamped and die cut them with my PTI mat stack 5 die. I used a combination of chalk and markers for the coloring. Their wings are coated with a Gelly roll pen and the fur on their little outfits are filled with a glitter Gelly roll pen. It has touches of gold in it and has always been my go to item for a bit of sparkle. A pretty blush gingham bow adorned with a jingle bell and tiny tag. A trio of my fav DeNami aqua buttons balance things out. They don't show up well on the light blush paper, but there are a few snowflakes stamped with fresh snow ink.

That wraps things up for me, off to run a few errands. Have splendid day ~Lisa

Oh, this is so cute! I think your little girls have a wonderful vintage quality to them, and I LOVE the gingham ribbon you used! I think the cold snap is really helping my challenge out, because so many players have mentioned that it's kept them in the right mindset to create for Christmas in the spring! *wink* Thanks for playing with us again!!

Oooh, I love that you made a winter scene instead of the more expected Spring scene with these colors! Never would have tried that. Those little snow angels turned out so cute like this!!

This is lovely, Lisa. ;-) Such a perfect image for these challenge colors - soft and pretty and a bit playful. LOVE that ribbon with the jingle bell! You've added the perfect little touches.

We've had a fair amount of sunshine this past week, but the weather has turned rainy and cold today and probably for the weekend. Makes me want to sit still and read a good book. ;-) Hope you have a great weekend!
