RS #83 ~ You Can Do It!

Hi! I sure hope the rest of you had a beautiful day like we did. The upper 70's, plentiful sunshine, blue skies, shorts and flip flops...simply delightful!!! That's right...I haven't had to retire my flip flops yet ~ yippee!!! We also got the lab report back for Max and all is well, it was benign!!! Honestly you would never know my little guy had surgery. He's been full of orneriness and energy, silly pup. I took some time this afternoon to make a card. I loved the sketch at Retro Sketches this week and wanted to play along. I can see myself using this sketch again, it's so fun!

And this is they way I used it today.

I used scraps from one of my favorite paper collections ~ lavender by MME. I trimmed each scrap one inch wide and they were different lengths. After cutting the angled panel to size, I adhered the scraps then trimmed the edges flush with the panel. I just love the way this turned out!!  Another panel  made of kraft cardstock was added, trimmed slightly larger. Snippets of a square paper doily were added to the edge before adding all of this to my kraft card base. I chose a fun Precious Remembrance Shop sentiment. The little hearts are filled with glitter. I think I'll make a few more of these cards to use up the ever growing collection of scraps!

Thanks so much for taking a peek into my little corner of the world.
Blessings ~Lisa

I am so glad Max is OK!! We just lost one of our kitties this week due to a car! We are so sad! Our animals are such a big part of our lives! So I am glad Max is going to be OK! Yay!

Your card is so pretty! I love how you paper pieced the top panel and it looks like lace peeking thru!

Oh, and yeah for not retiring the flip flops for this solar powered girl! I am loving it! I am not a fan of the cold weather! This week has just been perfect. I just wish I could have enjoyed being outside more.
