cQc #309 ~ Truly Amazing!

Hi there! We have a new palette up at ColourQ today. It's warm and cozy just like the beautiful quilt in the inspiration photo!

When I saw the quilt, PTI's Mehndi Medallion came to mind. I stamped it in Gray Flannel then again with Versa Mark so I could clear emboss it. I think this was a mistake! It made the lines thicker and the coloring more difficult. I have a pastel pencil that I used for my rust color. I thought the slick embossed areas would resist it. It did in some spots, but not others. So it makes the coloring look a bit blotchy and smudgy. Lesson learned!

See the sentiment. It was a cheapy cheapster in the $1.99 Hot Spot at Archivers! Does anyone else miss their brick and mortar stores as much as I do? I used to love spending time there surrounded by all that paper and being inspired. It was a place my SIL (aka: stamping buddy) and I spent quality time together encouraging the shopping spree or asking "do I really need this?" Getting to the car and tearing pages from our 6x6 pad purchases to share with each other. Ah yes, the good old days!

Thanks so much for taking a peek today. I hope you have time to join us at ColourQ. Remember to check out what the DT has to share this week, it's fabulous I tell ya!! ~Lisa

When I saw your card, I immediately knew that you had picked the perfect stamp set for this challenge, and I kicked myself for not thinking of it too. Love how your coloring turned out, and even if you don't think it is perfect, it looks really nice and makes for a wonderful card.

Love that quilt & boy did you pick the perfect stamp to showcase the color combo, Lisa! Your coloring looks beautiful to me & I adore that sentiment stamp! Oh how I miss the brick & mortar stores, but it does save me money. I'm not nearly as likely to buy something when I just see it pictured on-line compared to having it in my hand at the store!

Lisa....this is so beautiful! What a wonderful and sweet card. I love your card and really think is it worth all you put into it. As for your Archivers story, I could not agree with you more. I never shopped at one but just having a LSS close by was nice and I too really miss them.

It is a beautiful card.

I also miss Archivers. My cardmaking friend and I would spend a couple hours browsing (and buying). There is nothing to compare to it now.

Lisa I think you are wrong... I zoomed in really close and think it is totally amazing ... hey! If the words fit? I've been looking for just that kind of store you've described ... none to be found in my area, sadly. REally beautiful card, for a very beautiful inspirational photo ... I'm in!

I don't think the colouring looks blotchy at all Lisa - just soft and pretty. Thanks for the lovely words on my blog. Will miss being part of the team but good to know I can hop to everyone's blogs for some more inspiration!

I think your card and coloring came out beautiful! And way to use the "cheapy" sentiment! It goes perfectly and it's always nice to be able to use different items from your stash!
