cQc # 358 ~ From Our House to Yours!

Ahoy mateys!! We have a fun nautical inspiration photo and terrific colors this week at ColourQ. I love nautical things, so this was right up my alley! A couple of days ago I saw an adorable baby/nautical card by my sweet bloggy friend Colleen Dietrich (you can see it here!). It was the inspiration for my card today.

I picked up this darling lighthouse while vacationing in Cape Cod a few years back. I like the shape of these Impression Obsession die cut waves, but I don't like that it cuts just below them. I would have liked the aqua water/waves to have been seamless. If anybody knows a way around this, I would love to hear about it!! It's probably something simple and I'll feel like a dope LOL!!

My sentiment is an older one by Hero Arts and the die cut clouds are Amuse. Isn't the anchor Washi cute!! And I couldn't resist a trio of PPP's new 3mm Sparkling Clear sequins for pizazz!

Have a delightful day!
I'll be back in a bit with something extra fun!! ~Lisa

Love your lighthouse card, Lisa! Our favorite vacation spot is Maine, and I still don't have a lighthouse stamp - must go looking for one this year!

What a great interpretation of these colors...and no, I am a dope too when it comes to figuring out how to not cut those waves, LOL! But I do like how you layered them, as well as that darling yellow anchor paper! Cute all over!

Wonderful card, love your lighthouse and waves! Good use of those colors too! As for the cut, it would be hard to do a partial die cut since that die is so short (top to bottom), but if you mis-align your cutting plates and "hang off" the bottom cut from both plates, only having the the waves between the two plates, you MIGHT be able to do one cut not both. Now that that's clear as mud....

Fantastic nautical scene. Love that lighthouse stamp, the waves and clouds. Is one of the clouds vellum? Great touch.

Oh my goodness this reminds me of home! Oh so darling! LOve the lighthouse - and those superb little clouds!!! [the only remedy for that cut, that I can think of, would be to partial die cut it - tricky with that small a die - yikes!]

I love the look of the waves around the lighthouse. I'm pretty sure I can smell the salt spray from here! What a fantastic way to use these colors. I wish I had that talent to take colors like this and create a beautiful scene.
