You're Special!

Hi there! I'm slowly getting back into my art studio after the holidays. When I saw this week's cue word for CASology, I knew I had to play along. My brother-in-law recently retired as Director of State Parks. He has a birthday coming up and I thought the cue word 'forest' was a perfect fit!

Following in the footsteps of many bloggers this year, I'm reaching for some of my older stamps. This pretty pine tree is by Hero Arts. It's stamped with Ripe Avocado ink (PTI) with some first and second generation stamping. I inked the upper portion of the panel with a soft blue then die cut with my Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Circle die. I cut some extra layers of the outer circle for more depth. This nifty pine embossing folder was also a good fit. The DeNami Design sentiment is on a PTI Tiny Tag die, also one of my older dies. In fact I think it was one of the first things I purchased from PTI!

I would love to know what you think of my new blog design! My profile pic needs to be updated. Hubby has been working lots of overtime. We'll get around to it one day. Other than a bit more mileage, I look the same LOL!!

LIsa, this is so perfect! What a great occasion, glad the cue matched up with your need for a card this week! I adore the trees, layered in such beautiful colors, and framed so sweetly. And, I must ask, why I have never seen this embossing folder before? It is wonderful! (And I thought I had them all!) The little tag is the perfect touch. Your new blog design is so pretty...perfect fit for you! Making me think I need to relook at mine...its been six years! Thanks for playing along at CASology!

This is a great masculine card! It's so nice to go back to using sets that have been in our stash for a while. It's too easy getting caught up in all the "new releases" and trying to buy everything. I like way too many stamps! Thanks for a gentle reminder to love what we have. Your card is fabulous! <3
