CC #85 ~ Rustic Blooms!

Hello friends! Thank you to everyone for your comments, emails and prayers for my dad. He's home now and doing well. He'll be enjoying the super bowl tonight in the comfort of his own home under the loving care of my mom!

Now how about a card, shall we! This one is for the rustic blooms challenge at The Card Concept.

I stamped the lovely PTI blooms onto a kraft card base. The Queen Anne's lace was heat embossed using Hero Arts white embossing powder. After die cutting the panel, I scored it to mimic the wood from the inspiration photo. The vellum and round opening are a nod to the glass bottles and little round table.

My card is a combination of two styles. It's clean and layered, but I also think it falls under the category of Classic and Elegant. Hmm, what do you think?

Don't you just love that Queen Anne's lace? One of my favorite PTI stamps and I love how you embossed them over stamped flowers to make them stand out, Lisa. The vellum circle was a fantastic idea.

Dear Lisa I am sad to hear that your family has suffered over your Dad. I am out of town and have only limited computer access for the month so I missed your post. I will pray for your whole family (God is not bound by time) : ) and thank Jesus for healing him quickly.

Your card is beautiful! I really love the dimensions you created! beautifully done.

BIG (((Hugs)))

Glad to hear your Dad is doing well. There's nothing quite like being home! And there's so much to love about this card. I love that you stamped the floral and leafy images on a kraft base. How warm that is! And the touches of white really make the card pop. Oh, and I love the scored background. I thought that was some special paper I should probably own until I read that you scored it yourself. Genius!

This is a winning design in my book, Lisa! Scoring that background was inspired! (My first thought was, "Who makes that embossing folder?" Haha! We do become used to our folders and dies, don't we?!) I think the Queen Anne's lace set is one of my all-time favorites and you've really done it justice!! Thank you for the wonderful news that your dad is home! I hope his recovery progresses smoothly! Hugs, Darnell
