Ina has come up with such a fun challenge for Just Us Girls... CASE a Designer! You can pick anyone you want! A member of our DT, a fellow card maker, scrapbooker, quilter, painter... sounds like fun huh!
A few years ago, while checking out Stacy Yacula's stamps at Purple Onion Designs, I came across this darling card by Nicky Meek. I'm CASEing it today!
I had the same woodgrain background, used the circle openings with those delightful soft pinks inside of them and this is what I came up with!
I paired my owl (Lilly ~ POD) with the bee from the Garden Bugs (POD) set. All stamped, Copic colored and fussy cut. In addition to Nicky's pretty pink background, I added some stenciled honeycomb to two of the openings to help tie in the yellows from the bees. It's not an exact CASE, but it works for me!
All of the leftovers are finding their way onto another card!

Awww, I think this is adorable! I like the stenciled honeycomb inside the tree holes. It adds more interest to your sweet design. Such a cute CASE of Nicky's card.
Works for me too Lisa...this card is absolutely ADORABLE!! POD has the cutest faces on their critters, and they fit in your circle die cuts just perfectly!! Wonderful coloring too! Cute, CUTE card my friend, and a wonderful take on Nicky's card...she'd be proud! Hugs. :0)

Great choice to CASE! I love your little owl and the bees and the bits of the honeycomb peeking through the circles. The pretty flowers and leafy branches cascading down around the circles were the perfect addition.

Oh my goodness, Lisa. This is such a wonderful CASE of Nicky's card. I love your woodgrain (is that gold and is it foiled?) and that adorable little owl among the buzzing bees. The stenciling is fabulous and I love your addition of oranges and greens. Wonderful creation!
