Merry Christmas

When I hear the word pine, I think of my grandfather. Way back when CB radios were the thing, he would sit in his little at home workshop, a small room in his garage and talk with folks on the radio. If you know about CB radios, you didn't use your real name, you had a handle instead. A tall pine tree stood outside the window of his workshop, so he became known as Tall Pine. How I would love to be that little girl watching him use his CB radio saying "This here's the Tall Pine" once again. I created my CAS Christmas card is in memory of him!

I think you'll understand why I couldn't resist this group of tall pine trees by Simply Graphic. You probably know which one represents my grandfather too! A peaceful view through a MFT peek-a-boo window that brought back childhood memories.

Thanks so much for stopping by. We do hope you'll join us and our two August guest designers Elizabeth (Paper Sweetness) & Lucie (Lucie G Cards)!

What a sweet memory, Lisa! My grandfather had a blue spruce in his front yard that he covered in lights at Christmas time. Precious memories! Love your row of pines and how you've framed it!

Stunningly sweet and simple Lisa. I enjoyed reading about your grandfather. My dad & mom used a CB radio when I was a child. We all had "handles". Mine was Dr. Doolittle because I loved animals. (Still do!) What a warm and loving memory of you to share.

What a lovely memory of your grandpa - and thanks for sharing it - I knew someone who was on a CB radio long ago and can just picture your grandpa in his shed with the crackling sounds. You created a beautiful CAS stand of tall pines here - the MFT framing is perfect for them as well as the snowflakes on the top corner! xx

Thank you for sharing a sweet memory of your grandfather, Lisa! The story really warmed my heart, imagining little Lisa. :-)
Your card is so lovely! I love that you extended the trunks over the window, and placed the window panel a little off center.

I can't even put into words how deeply I missed having grandparents in my life. I know for sure I would have fallen deeply for yours - I could have even visited with him from my first little minivan which came with a CB radio in 1987! Silver Streak was my handle - given to me by all the truckers I passed on the Indiana/Ohio turnpike!
LOve your pines, and just adore the story you have told through your card. xx

This is so lovely and I can see why you couldn't resist that stamp even without the association with your grandfather. It is a lovely stamp. I remember CB radios my ex husband used to have one. He used it to call home when out fishing. It was before the days of mobile phones xx

WOW, Lisa! This card really warms my CAS heart! For such a simple card, there are so many perfect elements - from the way the tree trunks overlap the bottom of the square to the use of 3 perfect little flower dies to suggest snow. Love it!
