When I hear the word pine, I think of my grandfather. Way back when CB radios were the thing, he would sit in his little at home workshop, a small room in his garage and talk with folks on the radio. If you know about CB radios, you didn't use your real name, you had a handle instead. A tall pine tree stood outside the window of his workshop, so he became known as Tall Pine. How I would love to be that little girl watching him use his CB radio saying "This here's the Tall Pine" once again. I created my CAS Christmas card is in memory of him!
I think you'll understand why I couldn't resist this group of tall pine trees by Simply Graphic. You probably know which one represents my grandfather too! A peaceful view through a MFT peek-a-boo window that brought back childhood memories.
Thanks so much for stopping by. We do hope you'll join us and our two August guest designers Elizabeth (Paper Sweetness) & Lucie (Lucie G Cards)!

what a great story about your Grandfather ♥ I love those long pine trees and your framing is perfect :)
Lisa, this is such a wonderful memory and so awesome that you could use it as your inspiration for this challenge! Your card is perfect!
What a special memory you have of your grandfather, Lisa. I can see why you had to have this stamp. :) Beautiful card you've created in his honour. xx
What a sweet memory, Lisa! My grandfather had a blue spruce in his front yard that he covered in lights at Christmas time. Precious memories! Love your row of pines and how you've framed it!
What a lovely memory you have of your grampa, Lisa! Your card is the perfect tribute to that memory.
Aahhh..your sweet tall pines Christmas card is such a beautiful CAS design, Lisa. TFS your sweet story about your grandpa too. Love and hugs..Nancy
Stunningly sweet and simple Lisa. I enjoyed reading about your grandfather. My dad & mom used a CB radio when I was a child. We all had "handles". Mine was Dr. Doolittle because I loved animals. (Still do!) What a warm and loving memory of you to share.
Lisa... your card is simplicity at its very best! Thank you so much for asking me to GD this month!
What a sweet memory and a lovely resulting card, Lisa!
CAS and absolutely BEAUTIFUL Lisa! And I just LOVE the memory you shared of your grandfather Tall Pine! Definitely a perfect card in memory of him!! Hugs. :0)
What a lovely memory of your grandpa - and thanks for sharing it - I knew someone who was on a CB radio long ago and can just picture your grandpa in his shed with the crackling sounds. You created a beautiful CAS stand of tall pines here - the MFT framing is perfect for them as well as the snowflakes on the top corner! xx
How sweet is this? I love that you brought the trees out onto the frame too. Fabulous.
Such a lovely tribute to your grandfather, Lisa...I'm sure you miss him very much! I love how you stamped all those fabulous pine trees and your peek-a-boo window is perfect! Love this sweet card! xx
Thank you for sharing a sweet memory of your grandfather, Lisa! The story really warmed my heart, imagining little Lisa. :-)
Your card is so lovely! I love that you extended the trunks over the window, and placed the window panel a little off center.
Hideko xx
I can't even put into words how deeply I missed having grandparents in my life. I know for sure I would have fallen deeply for yours - I could have even visited with him from my first little minivan which came with a CB radio in 1987! Silver Streak was my handle - given to me by all the truckers I passed on the Indiana/Ohio turnpike!
LOve your pines, and just adore the story you have told through your card. xx

Great story about Gramps - I do remember CB radios and what a fun handle he had! Your card pays him tribute so lovingly, Lisa!
What a glorious tribute to your grandfather! I remember those days too and I know my grandpa used to talk on the CB, but I never knew his handle. Your design is so fresh and clean!
What a sweet memory of your grandfather resulting in this fabulous card. These pine trees are adorable and “Tall Pine” is standing proud outside the window.
Lisa, what a wonderful memory you have of your grandfather and the Tall Pine. Lovely card to portray this memory.
What a sweet story, and a lovely card in memory of Tall Pine.
What a fun memory of your grandfather & the perfect card to honor him!
What a wonderful story AND a wonderful card!! It's definitely going into my inspiration files.
This is so lovely and I can see why you couldn't resist that stamp even without the association with your grandfather. It is a lovely stamp. I remember CB radios my ex husband used to have one. He used it to call home when out fishing. It was before the days of mobile phones xx
WOW, Lisa! This card really warms my CAS heart! For such a simple card, there are so many perfect elements - from the way the tree trunks overlap the bottom of the square to the use of 3 perfect little flower dies to suggest snow. Love it!
