PDCC #97 & CFC # 18 ~ Gold "E" Locks!

Happy Labor Day ! Hope everyone is enjoying this holiday weekend. We've been spending time with our families and eating our way through the holiday!  Such an assortment this weekend...BBQ ribs, a corn roast and then of course there are the trips for ice-cream (yay!!)

I had a bit of crafting time so I put together a card for two challenges. Both are to use black, white and red. The Playdate Cafe challenge is to use just a splash of red while the CAS-ual Fridays challenge is using read as in books!

Now you might be wondering about my title for this post Gold "E" Locks. Two inspirations behind this card. First the tower of wedding cupcakes. When my son and daughter-in-law were married; their colors were the very elegant black, white and a beautiful crimson red. The floral paper on my card is a what I used for their wedding invitations, favors tins and table centerpieces. Then there is the "E"...the centerpieces were a composition of a large black wooden letter "E" with this pretty floral paper underneath and clusters of red roses at the base of the letter.  Hence my "E" in the Goldilocks title and on my card. Then for my book challenge I chose Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This is actually a stamp my son bought for me when he was in college as a Mothers' Day gift! Isn't she precious (to me in more ways than one!) She's from Renaissance Art Stamps. For my three bears I created a little gift tag to accompany the card using a portion of a stamp by Judith. So there you have it! Sometimes I wonder how my brain works to tie all of these things in together HA!!! But I think it worked out pretty well...two challenges in one! ~ Lisa

It is a wondrous thing when challenges blend seamlessly! I especially love the Gold E Locks card of the little girl, the floral 'toile' background looks perfect with the girl's antique pic. Thanks for leaving some love at my blog! And for playing with us at THe Cafe, too. :)
