Throwback Thursday!

 Okay peeps, as requested!

Sorry it's black and white, not able to dig through photos just now! This was from our city's local paper after nationals. 

My costume is white, the diagonal stripes aqua and the fancy trim bordering them was lime green. The bodice has green doo-dads. My aunt always made my costumes and my mom would hand sew on all of the embellishments. Of course my hair (the length past my waist) was up in a bun for twirling with a little tiara too!

Just Us Girls #842 ~ Happy Birthday

Sue is hosting STENCIL WEEK for us at Just Us Girls.

Here's what I have to share.

I used warm shades of golden yellow and a touch of orange on my PTI stencil. Once the panel was finished, I die cut it with a Poppystamps frame keeping everything intact. I popped this onto a mustard yellow card base then added a simple Memory Box sentiment tab. I love the way this turned out!

I just saw that this works for the Seize the Birthday challenge. Off we go!

Poppystamps

Thank you for the get well wishes here, on FB and in the cards I've received! Recovery is going well. X-rays and a new cast (another beasty full arm deal) this past Friday. Things are still in place and the incision looks good. Two more weeks until more X-rays and another cast. This one will be smaller... thank goodness! My guy is taking very good care of me!

It's time for another post from me over on the Poppystamps blog with another of my projects made ahead! I'm sharing something from the latest release in a fun color combo inspired by a twirling costume from my teenaged baton days! It started with this pretty Fine Eyelet Frame panel. Pop over for a look!

Just Us Girls #841 ~ Happy Fall

It's time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls. Vicki is our hostess and has a lovely Mood Board for us. 

Here's a close up. So many options!

I focused on that bottom right photo with the fancy buildings and hint of fall color. I used a retired Poppystamps window die, backed it with vellum and stamped on a simple sentiment (PTI).

The row of pretty little trees is an old woodblock stamp by Memory Box. As a nod to the sweater in the bottom left and the one on the puppy, I embossed my background with a knit EF. A little sparkle and she was good to go!

Hello, my friends! It's WORD WEEK at Just Us Girls. Ina is our hostess and she picked the word BOLD. I had to put my thinking cap on and in the end decided to go with a bold sentiment and bold colors. Take a look...

I stamped my big bold sentiment (TSM) and heat embossed it to give it even more pop. This was added to the embossed panel along with a bright bold orange butterfly from Poppystamps. It all went onto a card base topped with a bright glittery floral paper. I think I managed to make it bold, how about you?
