Just Us Girls #773 ~ Hello

Bobby has challenged us to use a flower die at Just Us Girls for this week's die challenge. I've got that covered and I'll bet you do too! We also have a new guest designer for the month of May. It just so happens to be a long time blogging friend of mine... Rosemary Dennis! Be sure to pop over to her blog, you won't be disappointed!

This seemed like the perfect opportunity to let my Honey Bee Magnolia take center stage! Pale Peony and Spring Moss inks (PTI) were used for a little smooshing. After cutting all of the layers and leaves, I glued just the center of the magnolia parts and popped everything onto the Mama Elephant Circle Lattice panel. After playing around with card base colors, I finally settled on kraft. It picked up the flower center perfectly! A sweet hello sentiment from Poppystamps was all it needed.

I have a feeling our gallery will look like a beautiful paper garden by the time the week has finished. I hope you'll plant your card there too!

Happy Birthday

These rainy days sure do make good crafting days. A quick run to the mailbox, dodging raindrops, made the day even better. I had a package from Simon Says Stamp! I was the lucky recipient of a gift certificate a couple of weeks ago and put it to good use. The pretty Magnolia die by Honey Bee Stamps was one of my new toys. It seemed a good fit for a few challenges. This will be heading to the Freshly Made Sketches, Seize the Birthday and  Tic, Tac Toe galleries.

Using the sketch, I made a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square card. The birthday topping option this week is green plus one color. Mine is pale pink ink blended lightly onto some of the magnolia petals. The Tic, Tac Toe options of square card, die cut and embossing gave me what I needed to finish the card. The embossed panel was gifted to me by sweet Michele! A simple foiled sentiment tab from Memory Box was the finishing touch.

And there you have it, friends.

Thanks for taking a minute to stop by today!

Hello

The Flower Challenge is looking for dies on our cards this month. So yeah, I might have a few of those! I thought it was a good time to layer up the fabulous Honey Bee cone flower once again.

After die cutting the layers, I did a little ink blending on them. I had a tiny snippet of PP that was just the right color for the center. Lucky me, the leaves were already cut from a previous project. I popped the big bloom onto a lattice panel (WF) that I had added a soft touch of woodgrain stamping to. Then I topped it off with a sentiment from The Stamp Market.

We're finally headed for cooler days. The humid 90's are no fun, 75 is more to my liking! Hope your weather is treating you right today! Thanks for spending a bit of your day with me, friends!

Lucky

Hello and welcome back! After seeing so many of my blogging friends use the marvelous Honey Bee Stamps Coneflower die... well, I had to make it my own! This is my first go at it and I have to say, it's so much fun to play with! I'll be sending this one over to Happy Little Stampers for their 'Anything Goes With Dies' challenge.

When leafing through my 6x6 pads, I found this cute piece had a die cut opening already cut. It looked like the perfect spot for a sentiment (PS) and the perfect place to add my Coneflower. I pulled colors from the background paper for the leaves and flower center. I just love it!

Now to decide which enabler blogging friend to send this to!!
