Poppystamps

Have you seen the latest release at Poppystamps? It's called Holiday Cheer and is filled with cute fall and winter dies. I'm sharing a card on the blog today featuring a few of them. It all began with this adorable new Nordic Birdhouse. Christmas in July, you might say! Pop over to check it out!

You're Pretty Darn Amazing

With the smoke from wild fires drifting down to Ohio, it was a good day to stay indoors and get a little crafty. I made a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches and Tic, Tac Toe challenges.

I used a trio of some favorite retired Poppystamps products. The Whittle Frame, Whittle Lizard and Daisy Trio worked perfectly with a sentiment by PTI. Everything went onto a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" base. This works for a few of lines on the Tic, Tac Toe board. The left and center vertical or the center horizontal.

My prayers go out to those impacted by the fires in Canada and those dealing with the smoke. Several activities and businesses closed in our area today. Take care, my friends.

Just Us Girls #832 ~ Oh Happy Day

Hello, my friends! Bobby has a fun summer Mood Board for you this week at Just Us Girls. So many options from the mix of photos and colors. I went with a simple card using a cute summer treat. Take a look...

I picked the popsicle treat from the photo and used my cute polka dot version from Impression Obsession. It's framed in a polaroid die cut (PPP) made from PTI paper. Red gingham is always so summery to me! I added a trio of little red blooms to mimic the poppies on the board and an embossed background to mimic the gingham. Everything went onto a light blue card base as a nod to all of the pretty blue skies in Bobby's photo. A simple sentiment by Carta Bella finished it off.

Okay, it's your turn now. Have fun!

Just For You

While hubby was working on some action softball photos of Sweet P's team, I had a little play time and put together a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Take a look...

My idea was to use a postage theme with my die cuts and stamps. I made a postage stamp using a Spellbinders die and a pretty little hydrangea stamp. Old Precious Remembrance Shop stamps were added too. Then I realized the graphic was a rectangle ~ OOPS! Sooooo, I added a couple of little banners to elongate my square postage stamp. What do you think, did it work? Hopefully the ladies at FMS will see the sketch in my design!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #831 ~ What a Wonderful World

Vicki is hosting WORD WEEK for us at Just Us Girls and she's chosen the word PLAY. It took a little thinking and rooting around in my crafty nook, but I came up with something fun!

My interpretation of PLAY is music! My parents really enjoy the music activities at their new Assisted Living home. Mom especially likes when they play Name That Tune! I think I bought this 12x12 sheet of paper when JoAnn was going out of business. All of those pretty colorful guitars paired well with my song lyric sentiment. I stamped the sentiment onto a rustic white card base then topped it with the PP. It was cut with the circle die and the largest SSS scalloped arch... I know, I'm obsessed!! A few retired Poppystamps blooms cut in coordinating colors topped it off.

What does the word PLAY say to you? Sports, recreation, music... so many options! Put your thinking cap on and come join us this week. Card making is playtime too, right? Oh, there's another idea, crafty supplies!

Thinking of You

Dang... it's been HOT as HOT can be around here all week. Storms yesterday evening and this morning too. Time to stay in and get inky! That's just what I did and I created this little number for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I used a delicate leafy rubber stamp by IO for the two tall rectangles in the sketch. A scrap of patterned paper for the horizontal rectangle and retired Poppystamps geraniums for the circle portion. I topped those blooms with a sweet hummingbird by PPP. I colored him to match the little ruby throated fella that has been frequenting our feeder.

Off we go to the FMS gallery.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it!

Just Us Girls #815

Hi, friends! Are you ready for a new challenge at Just Us Girls? Carol has a fun vibrant photo for us this week. I had so many ideas, but had to go with a more simple card since my time is quite limited just now. I'm still on the fence about it, but the hubs really liked it! Take a look...

I knew my cute Nordic Pretty Petal Flower by Poppystamps would work perfectly. Two aqua cardstocks were used and I popped it onto a shimmery gray panel cut with a SSS cover plate. My favorite hugs sentiment from Impression Obsession provided me with a sentiment. A trio of tiny blooms from the same Poppystamps die set were added to pull the pinks together.

Okay, my friends, it's your turn now. How does Carol's fun photo inspire you? Need more inspiration? Head over to the JUGs blog to see the marvelous makes the team has to share!

I think I'll link this one up at The Paper Players for the CAS Floral challenge!

Just Us Girls #813 ~ Good Luck!

Hey there! I'm back today with a card for our Just Us Girls challenge. Sue is kicking off the month of March as our hostess for DIE WEEK and we have Milla joining us as our guest designer! I made a fun shaker card. I think we'll give this one to Sweet P to wish her luck on the chess tournament she has coming up next week!

I used a pretty Rounded Rectangle Frame by The Stamp Market to create the shaker. All of the pieces where cut from green cardstock and kept intact. It's backed with PP and filled with sequins and confetti from Pretty Pink Posh. My shamrock was made from Poppystamps hearts and a swirl for the stem. A DeNami sentiment was stamped on a PPP tag and everything popped onto a sweet embossed panel.

There you go! We hope you'll join us for our challenge this week. There's more inspiration waiting for you on the Just Us Girls blog!

*EDIT* it just dawned on me that this works for the Color Hues challenge! I'll be adding this to their gallery.

Poppystamps

It's my turn to share a post on the Poppystamps blog today. There are some sweet Nordic Mice hanging out among the birthday gifts on my card. Pop over to check it out!

A big thank you to those who offered prayers for my mom and to those that have checked in. She's doing well and healing is going as expected. We're on the go with many doctor appointments and home health care has started for her PT. I tease that I'm their meals on wheels and love it when she asks "What's for dinner?" or when my dad says "This is good!".

Taking care of them is pretty special

Just Us Girls #811

Hello and welcome! I'm hosting our Photo/Mood Board challenge at Just Us Girls this week. I found this pretty photo on Pinterest. I tell ya, that cup of hot chocolate is calling my name! No marshmallows for me though. But I do like to spray on the Reddi-Whip and stir it in! See that pretty branch of blooms? We have two of those flowering cherry trees in our backyard. I just love the delicate pink blooms!

I think you can see where I was going here with the cup and the blooms. My sweet mug of hot chocolate is by Poppystamps ~ Nordic Cozy Cocoa. It was cut from patterned paper in my stash. The whipped cream was made with a glittered cardstock. My polka dot mug is a nod the the bokeh you see in the window!

Speaking of windows, I used a retired Gothic window by Poppystamps. I cut the window from woodgrain paper to pick up the table in the photo and backed it with vellum. It's decorated with retired blooms. I layered them up to resemble the cherry blossoms. This embossed background was a panel my sweet friend Greta sent me. I thought it grounded my scene perfectly!

I hope to find your card in our gallery this week. Just pick from the photo what inspire you and get crafty!
