cQc #368 ~ Happy Thanksgiving!

Autumn greetings!! It's time for a new challenge at ColourQ and we have a lovely autumn palette this week. I had a complete creative block after stamping a couple of leaves and fussy cutting them. So I put them down and walked away! A couple of hours latter those barricades were removed and I came up with this!

Two Pretty Pink Posh small Scallop Squares were die cut then adhered together. After adding them to my card base, I stamped an Impress sentiment. I love the font on this! The leaves (Rubber Monger) were added with adhesive on their centers only. I wanted the curve and depth on them to remain. I also added some speckles from the Precious Remembrance Shop's Fall Colors stamp set to them. A few buttons and it was complete!

I hope you'll join us this week.
The team always loves seeing your cards in the gallery! ~Lisa

cQc #367 ~ Happy Thanksgiving!

I can't believe we're already a week into November. I have to get going on the Thanksgiving dinner plans ~ yikes!! Speaking of Thanksgiving, how about a card for this week's ColourQ challenge. Gold is one of the colors and that makes me happy happy!!

I think I've mentioned before that I am really crushing on gold right now!! I love how elegant it makes a card look so I used a lot of it on this one. My Mama Elephant frames provided the perfect backdrop for this pretty little SSS wreath and sentiment. I clear embossed the pinecones then added the berries to them. Some 4mm & 6mm Metallic Gold Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh cranked up the gold meter a few notches!!

I look forward to seeing your card in our gallery this week.
These colors are just too pretty for you to pass up!!
Have a splendid day ~Lisa

cQc #366 ~ It's the Little Things...

Happy November! Ahhhh, I love this time of year! Trees ablaze with color, squirrels scampering about collecting their winter stash of food and all things to make their nest extra cozy, a falling leaf twirling it's way to the ground only to be sent aloft by a gentle autumn breeze that carries with it that wonderful scent of autumn. All of those little things sometimes taken for granted as life gets busy. But they matter just as much as the big stuff.

I used lots of little things on this week's ColourQ card. The smallest of the three Photo Frames dies by Pretty Pink Posh was used to cut my rust polka dot paper. I stamped a few PTI Beautiful Blooms II small flowers to be framed then added my little things sentiment (Amuse) with foam tape. A trio of punched (MS) butterflies added a little movement. See those little loops on the flowers in the inspiration photo? I think my embossed panel mimics them quite nicely!!

Okay, your turn! Can't wait to see what you design with this week's colors! Have a beautiful November day ~Lisa

cQc #365

Hey there! It's time for a new palette at ColourQ today. I'm sorry I don't have a card to share, crazy busy these last few days! But you can pop over to the CQC blog for inspiration from the team!

Isn't this THE cutest owl!!
Can't wait to see what yo do with the colors this week.
Happy crafting ~Lisa

cQc #364 ~ Trick or Treat!

Hey there! We have a bright and happy palette for you at ColourQ this week. I was not only inspired by the colors, but the inspiration photo as well. Check out what some of my fellow design team members have to share for some incredible inspiration that might or might not be of the Halloween nature!

I reached for another image from the last 12 Kits of Occasions kit. I used a combination of watercoloring, Copics, Tombow markers and Wink of Stella to jazz up this little witch. A snippet of Pumpkin Pie cardstock was die cut with a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 1 die. The sentiment (also from the kit) was cut with a PPP Mini Tags die

If you look closely at the ribbon in the inspiration photo, you'll see a loopy design on it. I mimicked that with my dry embossed background. Finally some scattered turquoise rhinestones to look as if the little witch were sprinkling about some magic!

Can't wait to see what you do with the colors this week.
We always enjoy your projects in our gallery!

cQc #363 ~ Happy Halloween!

Hiya! We have a fun challenge for this week's ColourQ! Black, white, newsprint and one spot color of your choice. With Halloween fast approaching, I chose orange!

My card came together very quickly with items left over from the last 12 Kits of Occasions kit. I added the newsprint paper to the mix. It's die cut with a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 3 die. The die cut sentiment and cat were loaded up with Wink of Stella for some added glitz!! It was a new pen and WOW did it flow with gusto LOL!!

That's a wrap from me.
There's fun to be had with my little Sweet P today!!

cQc #362 ~ Love You!

Hello, hello! Here we are at Tuesday again and another ColourQ challenge. If you are a fan of pink you will run to your craft room to play along! Two pretty shades of pink along with black, white and silver. I made a card that will go to my parents for their wedding anniversary. Take a look.....

I used this week's CAS(E) This Sketch for my jumping off point. I also zoned in on the word love from the bracelet bead using the Love You script from my Sweet Pea Stamp Set. The subtle soft pink leaves below it are from Precious Remembrance Shop's Fall Colors Stamp Set. The pretty swirls (Inkadinkado) were stamped onto my Strawberry Slush panel with Versa Mark ink for a tone on tone look. I used a Spellbinders 18 label then added a few pearls and a couple of little butterflies. Truth be told, I forgot about the black and had to add them at the last minute LOL!!

I hope you have a wonderful day! Our's is supposed to be nice, so I plan on a walk with Sweet P followed by some bubble blowing and baby giggles!!

cQc #361 ~ Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello lovelies! There's a pretty September palette for this week's challenge at ColourQ. Earthy browns, bright pumpkin-y orange and crisp (September skies!!) blue! I have a sweet Thanksgiving card that I hope inspires you to play along with us.

I ran with the polka dots and the banner like points on the ends of the ribbons from the wreath inspiration photo. This adorable little mouse was left over from one of my 12 Kits of Occasions kits along with the polka dot paper. Check out the teeny tiny cork buttons I added to his dapper little vest! The banner die is Pretty Pink Posh's Stitched Banner Duo. I thought the font on this DeNami Design sentiment went well with the sweet mouse. Some twine and wooden star accents topped things off. My in house critic was not overly impressed with this one LOL! Guess he's not into browns!

Yesterday was a rainy washout for us. I hope it's a sunny pleasant day so Sweet P and I can go for a walk. She's learned her colors and points to things along the way calling out their color to me! So precious!!

Don't forget to visit the ColourQ DT to see how they rocked the colors! ~Lisa

cQc #360 ~ Fall Leaves...

Hey there! Ready for a pretty fall palette from ColourQ? When I saw the colors, I knew I had the perfect stamp set with the perfect sentiment.

I used Precious Remembrance Shop's Fall Colors stamp set to create this card. Just look at that sentiment, was I right...perfect wording for the colors this week! I stamped the leaves and speckles on a white panel using my Misti. This went onto a Soft Suede card base. To emphasize the word beautiful, I used the underscore from my Sweet Pea stamp set (PRS)!

Okay, now it's your turn!!
Have a great day and thanks for visiting ~Lisa

cQc #359 ~ You're the Best!

Hello sweet bloggy friends! We have a new palette up at ColourQ and a perfectly sweet inspiration photo!

I started with a watercolored (smooshed!) panel. Next came a stamped trio of Altenew Painted Flowers. I combined PTI's Simply Chartreuse ink and a golden yellow Tombow Brush marker to get my Summer Starfruit yellowy green for the leaves. Turned out pretty good, don'tcha think! A typewriter was trimmed from some patterned paper in my stash. The fun black speckled paper was die cut with a Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Borders die. The blue check paper in the background is an old scrap I had. I think it's by Lasting Impressions. And last but not least, I added a few PPP Clear Droplets (4mm & 6mm).

ColourQ is part of the Altenew challenge hop!

I hope you enjoy your day. We finally have a break in the heat, thank goodness!! Sweet P and I will be enjoying a walk today and maybe blowing a few bubbles too!! ~Lisa

cQc # 358 ~ From Our House to Yours!

Ahoy mateys!! We have a fun nautical inspiration photo and terrific colors this week at ColourQ. I love nautical things, so this was right up my alley! A couple of days ago I saw an adorable baby/nautical card by my sweet bloggy friend Colleen Dietrich (you can see it here!). It was the inspiration for my card today.

I picked up this darling lighthouse while vacationing in Cape Cod a few years back. I like the shape of these Impression Obsession die cut waves, but I don't like that it cuts just below them. I would have liked the aqua water/waves to have been seamless. If anybody knows a way around this, I would love to hear about it!! It's probably something simple and I'll feel like a dope LOL!!

My sentiment is an older one by Hero Arts and the die cut clouds are Amuse. Isn't the anchor Washi cute!! And I couldn't resist a trio of PPP's new 3mm Sparkling Clear sequins for pizazz!

Have a delightful day!
I'll be back in a bit with something extra fun!! ~Lisa

cQc # 357 ~ You're So Special!

Hey there! I can't believe this is the last Tuesday of August. Summer is fading away before our very eyes. So how about a sweet little flower to brighten your day. We have a new happy palette for ColourQ this week. I'm not a fan of bright pink and orange isn't high on my list. But you know, I like they way they look together on my card today!

Colors check, polka dots (oh yeah!) check, sweet playfulness like the quilt and sham in the inspiration photo...yep another check! I've used Pretty Pink Posh's Scallop Border Dies and Precious Remembrance Shop's Blossom Stamp Set for the water colored flower and sentiment. I couldn't use green for the leaves, so I opted for some sparkly white glitter instead!

Have yourself a delightful day. ~Lisa

cQc #356 ~ Faith, Hope, Love

Hiya sweet peeps! Today is Tuesday and that means a new palette from ColourQ! This card was created specifically for my sister-in-law who is in need of prayer right now. It's on it's way to her as I type this post. I hope she feels the love that comes along with it.

This started with my little hydrangea stamp I picked up in Cape Cod a few years ago. I'll never forget the beautiful blue hydrangea bushes I saw on Nantucket. When I found it in the neatest stamp store in Hyannis, I new I had to have it. It's by Inkadinkado and I just love it!! I stamped it repeatedly to create my own patterned paper then gave it a striped and blue border. Both borders were cut using Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 2 (straight line stitch) and 4 (scallop) dies. The sentiment (Hero Arts) was stamped onto Blackberry Bliss paper and embossed in white. The paper looks black here, but I promise it's Blackberry Bliss!! To mimic the sparkle in the inspiration photo, I added PPP Sparkling Clear sequins (4mm & 6mm).

You know you want to play along after seeing these pretty colors..am I right!! Can't wait to see your card in our gallery. Have a great day ~Lisa

cQc #355 ~ Grateful for You!

Hello! It's time for a new palette from ColourQ! I can not even begin to tell you the anxiety this card gave me. My first attempt was to watercolor some roses under the circle. It was a disaster of epic proportion LOL!! Then I tried a combination of stamped and die cut flowers failing miserably. Tried something else, then something else and finally ended up with this!

The church (PTI), clouds (A Muse), hill (Stitched Borders 1: Pretty Pink Posh) polka dot sky and sentiment (Simon Says Stamps) never changed, thank goodness! I reached for some stamps I haven't used in a very long time. They are little stick stamps from Stamps by Judith. Some of my earliest purchases! I added Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins (4mm & 6mm) for a touch of pizazz. There are still a couple of things that I'm not happy with, the perfectionist in me haha!! But over all it's not too bad.

You know we love it when you play along with us.
Now go get busy with these pretty colors! ~Lisa

cQc #353 ~ You Make Me Smile!

Hi friends! We have a new palette for you at ColourQ and a fun geometric modern pillow as inspiration!

This was the perfect opportunity to use the newly released Stitched Hexagon dies from Pretty Pink Posh. I used one to make a shaker filled with 4mm & 6mm Sparkling Clear Sequins, Sparkling Clear Seed Beads and 4mm Onyx Sequins. I trimmed another down a bit and colored over the aqua paper with a black Tombow Brush marker. I love the way this looks! The aqua stitching still shows up, nifty huh!! I stamped the arrow border from Precious Remembrance Shop's Journey Stamp Set then added my sentiment (Inkadinkado) over them.

My hubby said this one looks "mechanical".  He's so cute!!
And I just noticed the shaker part is crocked, must fix that!
Have a great day ~Lisa

cQc #353 ~ A Bundle of Love!

Hidyho!! I'm here today to share a little bundle of love with you for ColourQ! We have a pretty summery palette and a super sweet inspiration photo this week.

I deigned a CAS card with an adorable little lamb from Paper Sweeties. I dressed up her surroundings with a few blooms and leaves from PTI's Polka Dot Parade #6. She's standing on a wee grassy hill cut with a new Pretty Pink Posh die that will be released in just a couple of days!! I topped things off with a sentiment from Rubber Moon. My cousin is expecting her first baby, a boy!  This will be tucked into her gift from my mom and I for her upcoming shower.

Thanks ever so much for spending a bit of time with me today. I would like to thank my newest followers for joining me in this blogging journey. I appreciate it more than you know. And for those of you who have been with me awhile, I appreciate you too~Lisa

cQc #352 ~ Thanks!

Hello sweet bloggy friends! I'm here today sharing a card using our new colors for this week's ColourQ. I got kind of artsy after being inspired by my dear friend Michele's (I Card Everyone) card! Her {happy wishes} card nudged my creative mojo out of hibernation and into a watercoloring journey!

I pulled out my Painted Flowers set by Altenew and got busy. I used just two of the images for this particular flower. Then I added a color wash of orange using my water brush. Next came background colors letting the edges of my flowers and leaves blend with them. I used just a bit of yellow letting it run lightly down the panel leaving white space too.

After trimming around the blooms I adhered it to a panel that had a bit of ink blending, then to the Rose Red card base. Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins (4mm & 6mm) add the right amount of pizazz to just about any card!

Okay, now it's your turn! Looking forward to seeing your lovely works in our gallery this week. On the advice of my sweet friend, I'm linking this up at the Muse challenge. Their guest Muse Linda made such a pretty card floral card! Mine has the same sort of cut out along the edge of the flowers, similar sentiment placement and a sprinkling of sparkle too! ~Lisa

cQc #351 ~ Do Something New Every Day!

Hi! Ready for a new color palette from ColourQ?  I will be the first to admit that this one was difficult for me. I'm not a purple or a teal fan and this week has both!! But hey, that's why it's called a challenge right!! Once I wrapped my brain around it I came up with something acceptable. Well....that is except in the eyes of my in house critic LOL!! He didn't care for it!!

I started with a white panel and the feather from Precious Remembrance Shop's DIY stamp set. I stamped the sentiment from the set using Bermuda Bay ink. Next came some splatters from the PRS Positive Thoughts stamp set. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Mini Heart Confetti mimics those "sort of hearts" in the feathers from the inspiration photo. It's not exactly me, but I made it, so I have to own up to it LOL!!

I'm off to the dentist today for a cleaning.
I live such an exciting life, haha!! ~Lisa
