FFC #8 ~ Noel!
Hello! I know it's hard to think of making a holiday card with Memorial Day fast approaching, but I wanted to play along at Festive Friday to get another card tucked away in my stash. The theme for this challenge is the trigger word {sweet}. I used a sweet little gingerbread man die cut I've had for years along with some peppermint candies paper as my version of sweet on this card!
Isn't he a cute little fella. I bought him many years ago at a teaching supply store. When hosting a large extended family Christmas party, I decorated a tree with lots of them and had the family member names on the tummy! I stamped some holly leaves to decorate him then added rhinestones as the berries. A few die cut holly leaves were added to my jingle bell adorned bow. A tiny tag holds a simple sentiment. I thought this would be a cute card to add to a plate of Christmas cookies!
That's all for now. I hope you'll stop by tomorrow for a DeNami blog hop and again on Monday for my Button Boutique! Take care ~Lisa

FFC #5 ~ Very Merry!
You know one would think that on April 3rd we would have spring in the air...am I right. What's up with the chill in the air! I'm ready for the flowers to bloom, the sun to warm our days and the nip in the air to say bye bye until next fall...late next fall! But the cool days did put me in the mindset to play along with the Festive Friday challenge. If you haven't heard of this challenge you should check it out. It's all about Christmas cards being made in advance before all of the holiday rush kicks in! This is what I made using the pretty colors of blush, aqua and gold.
These soft colors seemed perfect for this darling Stampendous stamp. I just love the precious little girls in their snuggley warm coats and angel wings!! I simply stamped and die cut them with my PTI mat stack 5 die. I used a combination of chalk and markers for the coloring. Their wings are coated with a Gelly roll pen and the fur on their little outfits are filled with a glitter Gelly roll pen. It has touches of gold in it and has always been my go to item for a bit of sparkle. A pretty blush gingham bow adorned with a jingle bell and tiny tag. A trio of my fav DeNami aqua buttons balance things out. They don't show up well on the light blush paper, but there are a few snowflakes stamped with fresh snow ink.
That wraps things up for me, off to run a few errands. Have splendid day ~Lisa
Edit: This card was chosen for publication in the November issue Of Create: Christmas Cards!

FFC #1 & Inkspirational #5~ Peace!
Well hello! Did you know there's a new challenge blog out there just waiting for you to play along? Well my very dear friend Geri of Paper Wishes is on the design team of Festive Friday. I'm sending a little love to her and the rest of the team by playing along! For their first challenge we've been given the colors of red, white and silver.
I hope you have a great week. Thanks so much for stopping by to visit, it means the world to me and I appreciate your comments! ~Lisa

I don't do much embossing or use many metallics. But I do love me some red!! I decided to go really festive and fun with this cute snowman by Stampendous. I've accented my little frozen buddy with silver embossing, a silver gel pen and a glaze pen. The tiny star at the top of the hat is popped up along with the sweet jester-like collar. I had a couple of fun metal corners in my stash (left over from my son's wedding invitations!) and I think they anchor the card nicely. Seam binding, ribbon and twine back my jingle bell in a multi layered bow. Isn't this vintage tinsel fun! A PTI tiny tag dangling from it is home to a couple of embossed HA snowflakes and a MorningStar tiny sentiment.
It just so happens I have another sweetie pie blogging friend who started her own challenge blog not long ago. Mynnette of On a Stampage has an "Anything Goes" challenge this week on her Inkspirational challenge blog. I think this will fit the bill nicely so I can send a little love her way too!
