Button Boutique ~ May God Richly Bless You!

Hi there! It's hard to believe this is the final Button Boutique for 2013, this year simply flew by. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and encouragement given to me this past year on my special feature for DeNami Design. I had a so much fun creating my special projects and cards featuring DeNami Boutique Buttons.

As well as being the final Button Boutique for 2013, it is also my final Button Boutique special feature. The DeNami Design store will not be restocking their Boutique Buttons, so we are bringing this to a close. I suggest ordering any of the collections I've featured so you don't miss out on adding them to your collection. They are reasonably priced and you get a very generous amount of buttons in each and every package.

Now with that business is out of the way lets get down to button business!!! I have two of these sweet little lanterns on my mantel and felt they needed just a little sprucing up this year.

The Elegant Holly Set was the perfect size. I stamped and trimmed out several leaves then added them to a punched circle. The clusteres were then adorned with Ruby Red Boutique Buttons. The pretty jingle bell nestled in my bow is available at the Pretty Pink Posh Etsy shop.

When it came to transforming this idea into a card I knew the perfect stamp to use ~ the Holly Lantern!

I just adore this sweet little Christmas stamp and I am absolutely in love with this sentiment stamp!!! It's a large stamp but you can see the impact it has on a card. The font is fabulous and the arch is beautiful ~ thanks Nami!

With this being the final Button Boutique, as well as the Christmas season, I felt a give-a-way was in order! I have a very special surprise Christmas gift planned for one lucky commenter. You have one week to leave your comments here for your chance at a Christmas package filled with DeNami goodies!!! I must have a way to contact you or another name will be drawn. My winner will be announced on Monday Dec. 23, 2013.

Thanks so much for visiting! ~Lisa

DeNami Design Button Boutique!

Hello friends! Here we are at the beginning of another new week. Another Monday, a Monday that just so happens to be Button Boutique Monday! I'm sharing my DeNami Design special feature today. Are you ready for a bit of whimsy!!??!! Here we go...

Doesn't he look like a wise old fella!
I think it's the eyes that do it for him.

I drew my own pattern and cut it from muslin. His wings and details surrounding the eyes are made of felt. I've used Espresso and Harvest Boutique Buttons for the eyes and "feathers" on his tummy.

To transform this idea into a card there were several owls to chose from in the DeNami shop. But I went with this little one from the Owls: Petit Four Set. He's stamped on the smallest of my Spellbinders postage dies, then two larger die cuts were layered under that. Since my owl is such a wise looking fella, I thought the ABCs Embossing Folder was the perfect choice for my card. Isn't this sentiment fun!! A few Harvest Boutique Buttons and this card was complete.

So there you have it friends, a touch of whimsy to start your week! ~Lisa

DeNami Design ~ October Button Boutique!

Trick or treat smell my feet give me something good to eat!! Where on earth did that silly saying ever come from LOL!!  I don't know, but every year it sneaks into my head! I know that some folks would consider the Halloween staple of candy corn to be something good to eat. So this month's Button Boutique feature at DeNami Design is based on that very item.

Wouldn't a basket or bowl full of these be a cute decoration!  I cut two pieces of muslin using a pattern that I drew. Next up I stitched and stuffed it. Using Tombow markers I colored off a section of orange and one of yellow. Then I glued on the buttons. The three colors I've used come from the DeNami Boutique Button collections of White, Tangerine, Harvest and Halloween. A cute sentiment tag tied on with twine is all this needs!

For this complimenting candy corn card I created a shaped template. A light pencil line let me line up the tiny candy corn stamp ~ so cute! After coloring them in with markers, I trimmed along the outer edge. For the card base I wrapped the twine around three times, then spread it out. This reminds me of a web! Next I stamped more candies on the diagonal and finally added the focal piece with foam tape. To the center of the focal panel I added a smaller orange candy shape with the center punched out. My sentiment was popped up with foam tape in that opening. And finally I added the yellow and white buttons.

They make a cute pair, dontcha think!

Now how about another button give-a-way!!! Anyone interested in this jar of assorted DeNami buttons? One random winner will be chosen from the comments on this post. You have until midnight on Sunday October 27th. The winner will be posted here on Monday October 28th. Please be sure I have a way to contact you or I might have to draw another winner!

I'm also linking this up at the Catered Crop Quickfire challenge!  The orange is the new black challenge. You might want to stop by the Craft Storage Ideas blog today. I have my first post up featuring a fellow stamper's craft room!

Thanks for popping in and have a great day ~Lisa

September Button Boutique & Give-A-Way!

Hello and welcome back! September...school days school days good old golden rule days!!! Guess you know where my mind has taken me for this month's DeNami Button Boutique feature! I don't have a photo of my products to show you, sorry about that. I gathered all of my supplies one night to adhere my buttons while watching a little TV with my hubby. He was working on a work project on the Ipad while I played with buttons and we had a movie going!! Mutli-taskers we are ~ hee! The movie was Ironman in case you were wondering. Nothing I had to pay close attention too haha, we've seen it before! So anyway...when I went to photograph my projects, it dawned on this organized gal, that she neglected that first photo ~ sheesh!!!

I told you school days! I was wandering around Hobby Lobby a few weeks back and came upon a flat wooden apple. It was already painted and on sale for a mere 50 cents ~ score! This was a simple project to complete. The colors and lines were already there. I simply added glue dots to the buttons and put them in place. Even the white highlight was on the wooden piece. Aren't these Ruby Red Boutique Buttons pretty? If you zoom in on this project you can see the fabulous variety that comes in the package. I think this would be a sweet gift for a teacher. Put a magnet on the back or even her room number on it for the classroom door! The apple is just about 4" tall, such a cute size!

Now that the apple was complete I set out to make a coordinating card. I reached for my sweet little DeNami apple from the apples and pears petit four set. This is the open one colored with markers. I love this sentiment, so perfect for so many people in our lives. I used a simple row of matching red buttons as a border. I see one little button moved on me just a bit, sneaky little fella! I pulled some October Afternoon paper and die cut the sticky back cork to add to my projects.

I made the small tag to pull some of the colors on the card to my apple. I snipped out one of the pencils and stapled on a scrap of the OA paper. I'm a stickler about making my gifts coordinate!

Would you like a free jar of pretty assorted DeNami Boutique Buttons! Well friends I have one up for grabs!! Leave a comment on this post by midnight on Sunday Sept. 22nd. One lucky commenter will win this cute prize!! I'll pick that random winner and post them on Monday September 23rd. **Please be sure that if you leave a comment I have some way to reach you if you are the winner, otherwise I might have to pick another**

I'm entering my button apple in the Ribbon Carousel challenge, their theme is back to school!

Thanks for peeking into my little corner of the world today ~Lisa

DeNami Design ~ August Button Boutique!

Hi there! It's time for another DeNami Design Button Boutique project! As our lazy days of summer are edging their way toward fall, I'm bringing you one last splash of happy summer colors!

I've taken these splendid DeNami products...

and turned them into this sweet little project!

I am in love with the way my pin cushion turned out! This whimsical kite will find it's place in my little art studio. My colors were chosen specifically to match my other decorations there! Some might think of red and green as Christmas colors, but they also make the prettiest little summer creations! I drew out my own pattern and fashioned the kite from floral fabric and muslin. Before sewing the project together, I stamped my images onto the muslin. The solid leaf sprig and mini open button on one section, along with decorative butterflies and the teeny swiss dot on the other. Once the sewing was complete I embellished with pretty ruby red DeNami Boutique Buttons.

Transforming this idea into a card was easy.
I used the cute DeNami kite stamp as my jumping off point!

This kite is so versatile. You can easily paper piece it or simply color in the sections. I chose to color two sections and add some polka dots with my marker to the other two. To mimic the floral fabric I used the rosebud trio stamp, nestled it into the grass border and used buttons as the blooms! The sweet polka dot butterfly found a perfect spot here as well. Using a tag, my sentiment trails along the tail of the kite.

If you don't sew, this project could easily be made from cardstock, mat board or even wood.  Wouldn't it be a cute decoration for a nursery or child's room! You could even go larger and make one for your front door!

I hope you've enjoyed my bit of whimsy today.
Thanks for taking a peek! ~Lisa

DeNami Design ~ July Button Boutique!

Hello and welcome!
I have a summery button boutique project to share with you today for
DeNami Design

I've taken these splendid DeNami products...

And turned them in to this sweet little project!

Now I ask you, what says summer like watermelon!! This project starts with a Styrofoam base. A simple inexpensive disk cut in half. I started with a layer of green buttons on the front and edge. Next I added a row of white buttons and finally the raspberry buttons. The next step was to cover some empty spots where the buttons meet with another more sparse layer of white and raspberry buttons. A sprinkling of black buttons was added to represent seeds. With a few spaces still showing I filled in with frosted lace and fruit punch Stickles to give it a juicy look! The new elegant word plate adorned with a fancy stick pin and matching buttons holds the perfect sentiment!

Transforming this idea into a card was easy!
I simply made my melon slice into a wedge!

This card starts with stamping the large dot swirls (love this stamp!!) twice onto a white panel. Next the melon wedge from the tropical fruit stamp set was stamped three times. I split my sentiment into three words with a little selective inking. This panel was added to a magenta card base. And finally I added the buttons to the card to make the melon wedge. I followed the same steps, adhering one row at a time, then layering a few on top of that. A wee bit of Stickles was used here as well.

This was a quick and fun summery project. I hope I've inspired you to give it a try! Have a delightful day. ~Lisa

Upon the advice of my sweet blogging friend Kim (Joyful Creations) I'm entering this into the Button Up challenge at Catered Crop!! This is a new to me challenge blog and I plan to spend a bit of time over there checking things out. Thanks so much Kim!!!

DeNami Button Boutique ~ Enjoy!

Hello friends! I'm here today sharing my June Button Boutique projects for DeNami Design. This little number would be perfect for a grad gift, a birthday as well as centerpieces. Something whimsical, something fun, take a look!

Cupcakes have been quite the rage and don't seem to be losing any momentum, so this project was a given for me! There are many many fantastic cupcake liners to chose from. This one happens to be Martha Stewart. You can easily adapt this idea for a male or female of any age.

The steps are very basic and supplies minimal. Select your cupcake liner and coordinating buttons. Next, pounce a styrofoam ball (2.5" works well with a standard size liner) on your desk a few times to get a flat bottom. Glue this into your liner and then glue on your buttons. I have a base of white buttons topped with a few sweetheart buttons and glitter to give the effect of sprinkles! Two stacked red buttons with some hand cut leaves form a cherry topper! A tiny sentiment from the Heartfelt Greetings stamp set made the perfect little pennant.

Transforming this idea into a card was easy...just flatten the cupcake!
The sentiment banner was made using the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set.

I do hope you enjoyed this little project!
Thanks for stopping by today ~Lisa

DeNami Button Boutique ~ You're Special!

Hello! I have another addition of my DeNami Design Button Boutique to share with you today. June will be here before you know it bringing Father's Day along with it. Now normally your first thought for a masculine project wouldn't include a selection of pretty little buttons. But I think the use of buttons paired with some masculine DeNami stamps worked out pretty well.

I've taken these splendid DeNami products and turned them into this sweet little project.

Isn't this fun! The men in my family love to fish. So the fishing chickie was a good jumping off point. Grant it they don't fish from a sail boat, but I thought it would be cuter than a fishing boat!

I folded my boat from a pattern found on line then added the teeny swiss dot stamp and blue stripes Washi tape to decorate it. I created my own pattern for the sail. It was cut out, inked on the edges, adorned with buttons (front & back) for the mast and stamped with a sentiment. My anchor was stamped, punched then added with foam tape to the boat. And finally two fishing chickies were added.

To transform this idea into a card I simply made a flat boat!

I kept everything the same here in my design. To give the boat a more finished appearance, all of the edges were scored and turned under. I even gave the sails some dimension by carefully pulling the paper between my fingers to give it the curve.

I think these turned out to be super Father's Day projects even with those pretty little buttons!

*Can you believe I have 400 posts!!  To celebrate, I'm giving away a set of the Thoughtful Greetings stamps! One lucky winner will be chosen at random from my comments on Monday May 27th! *

Thanks for stopping into my Button Boutique today! ~Lisa

Button Boutique #4 ~ Butterflies!

Hey there! It's time for for another set of Button Boutique projects at DeNami Design. The spring flowers are finally beginning to bloom in my neck of the woods. Before you know it butterflies will be fluttering about too. With that thought in mind I put together a fun project that would be cute for Mother's Day, a teacher's desk or perched on your window sill!

I've taken these splendid DeNami products and turned them into these sweet little projects!

Aren't they fun! I started with simple wooden spools picked up at any craft store and grounded them with some pretty patterned paper die cuts. As you can see each of the spools is decorated a bit differently using blue stripes washi tape, boutique buttons, twine and the tulip border stamp. The tops of the spools were made to look like flowers with the solid leaf sprig fussy cut then added for extra movement at the base of my design.

I stamped the full view butterfly twice for each spool, fussy cut them, then added spiraled wire stems and wire antenna between the two with a foam dot and score tape. I gently curved the wings to give them a fluttery look! Of course I had to give them a little body made from a threaded button.

Next I took this idea and transformed it into a card. Following the same design, a dimensional butterfly flutters above a button flower! The large dot swirls stamp replaces the wire stem and the washi tape helps to anchor my design.

I hope I've inspired you to dig into your button collection today and let a touch of spring flutter into you home! Button supply running low? No worries since the DeNami store has a beautiful selection to choose from. Have a delightful day friends ~Lisa

Button Boutique #3 ~ Bunnies & Give-a-Away!

Hi there! It's time for another set of Button Boutique projects at DeNami Design. With Easter around the corner my thoughts went to bunnies and colorful jelly beans!

I've taken these splendid DeNami products and turned them into this sweet little project!

Isn't she the sweetest little thing! I've layered colorful buttons on her Easter Bonnet and she holds Easter Blessings in an elegant oval frame for our guests. I have several packages of DeNami buttons and must say I am smitten with the aqua Boutique Buttons. Just look at those big beautiful buttons on her tummy!!!

Next I transformed this idea into a card using MME paper, more colorful buttons, the same sentiment in the oval frame and the adorable bunny border. I've also used the teeny swiss dot to decorate the frame.

The spring colors in both of these projects are chasing away the winter doldrums and revving up my spring fever!!

I hope I've inspired you to go through your button collection and make your own jelly bean creations! If your supply is running low hop (get it...bunny...hop...heee!) over to the DeNami store and do a bit of spring shopping! ~Lisa

*** For a bit of added fun I will be giving away this jar full of assorted DeNami buttons. One winner will be chosen randomly from my comments on March 25th! GOOD LUCK!!! ***
