Welcome to My World ~ Part One!

Today I'm inviting you to join me in my little art studio! Yep you read that right, I said {little}!! You see my creative space is in a closet. It's a deep closet in our third bedroom that we claimed as our den when we moved to this house. I have LOTS of photos and info to share so I think I'll turn this into three posts, making it a weekend event!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 {This is my creative space ~ my little art studio}
My amazing husband did all of the handy work here,
installing the shelving, lighting and my desk.
As I said, this is a deep closet. In fact I can close the doors behind me while I sit in my pretty little Pottery Barn Tolix chair, with room to spare! I don't do that, but I could!
The stacking drawer sets on either side of the chair are white plastic with clear fronts. I covered a piece of poster board with polka dot fabric (of course!!! ~*wink*) and slid them right into place inside the drawer. This hides the contents and looks cute to boot!
This is where I keep extra cardstock, envelopes, punches, adhesives, paper doilies, little what nots, baby wipes for stamp cleaning, chalks, colored pencils and some sewing supplies. You know all of the "stuff" we card makers "need"!
Okay, that wraps up part one. Tomorrow I'll give you a breakdown of the upper shelves and my desktop. Hope you'll stop in again for more details! ~Lisa
It's so beautiful! Love that you can be in the same room creating while your husband watches tv or something. And when you're done, close the doors and hide everything!
So what is your desktop made of
Lisa Elton said...
Hi Anonymus! Thanks for stopping by to check out my art studio. The desktop is a pre-made formica countertop we purchased at Lowes. If you don't have Lowes in your area, try Home Depot or another home improvement store.
Are the drawers hanging file friendly? I need office space while not giving up a guest bedroom. I think I could use the closet as a office because it is deeper,and would accommodate bifold doors that lock and guests could use an armoire for clothes etc. Thanks Terry.
Lisa Elton said...
Hi Anonymous! No the drawers are not. They aren't file drawers. They are just plastic stackable drawers that can be found at many stores like Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond or home improvement stores.
