Happy Birthday To You

Hello and welcome! Our challenge at Just Us Girls this week is {CASE a Design Team Member}. Just pick which card from the team inspires you and give us your take on it!

This is the card I gave my hubby for his recent birthday. In case you didn't know, his hobby is photography and birds are his favorite subject! Add flowers to those birds, even better! So this was not too feminine for him at all. In fact, he loved it and thought the gold foiling made it extra fancy!

This beautiful pair of birds from Pinkfresh were hot foiled, stenciled and die cut. They were then added to a soft green card base covered with a WF trellis. The foiled sentiment is by Poppystamps.

Okay friends, now it's your turn.

Just let us know in your post which card inspired you!

Can you tell me your coloring tools and colors? I want to achieve those light colors but never can. This card is stunning!

Hi Jane, I sure hope you check back, I have no contact info for you! The aqua, lavender and light green inks are PTI, the sage greens are TH Distress inks. I use 1/4" Pinkfresh blending brushes for small areas and Waffle Flower blending brushes on large areas. I use very little ink to achieve the soft colors then go over again with the same ink to get a darker shade. Hope this helps!

I love that hot foil set, Lisa, and your colors are fabulous. I love that you did the leaves in different colors. The trellis die was a great way to make a background.
