Happy Birthday to You

Tonight's card was created for three challenges! Kind of fun when that happens. A sketch, a color and a theme all combined into one card. Anne Marie, over at The Paper Players, provided me with a sketch and JoAnn at Seize the Birthday is looking for the color red. Those two played along quite well with the gals over at Double D Challenges who have asked us to use patterned paper. I just reorganized my 12x12 sheets by cutting them down to a more manageable size and packaging them by like colors. I knew just the reds I would pull and then I put the sketch to work.

Simple Stories papers, PTI's Pretty Peonies and a PF leafy die cut provided me with everything I needed. I started with an ivory base embossed with my fav polka dots then layered on all of the components following the sketch.

I really should use my patterned paper more often. I use to put it on just about every card I made! Goodness know I have enough of it! Thanks for popping in!

This pretty pp design is a great take on all the challenges, Lisa! I love how you have used the red outline flowers with the different patterns and the polkie-dotted e/f! Hugs, Darnell

Let me start by saying that I really love the creamy cardstock - there's a reason why these fabulous paper printers use it instead of white... of course it's so we will use it too! LOve your chosen prints, the layout is fabulous, and it all comes together so beautifully, Lisa!
Swooning over here!

Oh, Lisa, this is so pretty! I like your idea of grouping the colors. Your peonies look great with the papers, and you aced the sketch! I say the same about using my patterned papers more, too. I think the current Double Challenge gave me a boost. I'm glad you put your papers to work and played along with us!

We all should probably use our patterned paper more, Lisa, especially when cards as beautiful as yours can be made with it. I love the embossed dots in the background and the outline peonies. They pair so well with those wonderful red papers.

This is beautiful! I would never have occurred to me to put multiple bold patterns behind those lovely flowers - but in just red and white, it totally works. LOVE it!

I have hopes to still cut down my 12 x 12 DSP as the final step on my craftroom refresh! We will see if I actually do it as I am kind of ready to be done.😝 As for your mix of papers and design. Everything blends so well together. There is something about a polka-dotted background that I just love. Pretty card my friend and happy to see you in our gallery at Seize the Birthday.
