Just Us Girls #732 ~ Happy Birthday

It's that time again, a new challenge at Just Us Girls! Carol has picked a fabulous Mood Board for us to work with. I had lots of ideas, but finally settled in on that bottom right photo and this is what I ended up with.

After cutting a small piece of golden yellow paper, I stamped PTI's Truning a New Leaf images using white ink. This was topped with a trio of Poppystamps Nordic blooms and a couple of vellum leaves. I used a pretty debossed SSS cover plate as my background. It reminded me of those little black dots from the other pink and yellow photo. Two happy birthdays by Memory Box and she was good to go.

It's sure to be a beautiful gallery this week!
Your card will be in there, right?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had a beautiful vacation in St. Croix but the journey home was a bit of a mess. Bad weather and flooding in Miami delayed (several times!) our flight to the following day. Can you believe the airport in St. Croix made an announcement that everyone had to leave, they were closing! NO heads up, just get out! Who the heck closes their airport! 8:30 at night and we had to scramble to find hotel rooms. Made it to Miami Thursday with more delays and had to spend another unexpected night there. Flew into Raleigh, NC and made our connection to DC with about 30 seconds to spare thanks to an INCREDIBLE flight attendant (thanks, Jeremy) who moved us to the front of the plane for faster exiting. Finally landed in Cleveland at 12:20am Sat. and sat on the runway for over an hour because gates weren't working and planes had to be moved. Made it home Sat. at 4am. All this after we were supposed to have a straight flight home from Miami. As the saying goes, there's no place like home!
I love your clean and simple take on the mood board, Lisa! So very pretty. Well, WOW... that was quite the journey home for you! Pretty crazy that the airport in St. Croix was just shut down like that.
It's a shame when a great vacation has such a horrid ending, Lisa!
It didn't keep you from putting it all behind to make this lovely card! LOve yellow + pink and the way you've combined them today!
What an awesome card Lisa and I love your homemade dsp with the white stamping on the golden yellow cardstock! Sorry that your straight shot home was a lot more involved, but glad you finally made it safe and sound! Always bumps in the road, aren't there??!! Hugs. :0)
So sorry you had troubles getting home, but at least it was at the end of your St Croix visit! I'll bet you had a fantastic time
I'm so glad you are home safe after your harrowing journey, Lisa! It reads like a bad horror story and it is especially hard when it mars what had been a wonderful vacation. Hopefully your memories of the good times will erase it all! Or at least diminish it greatly.
Your sunny card certainly brightened my day! I love that cover plate and the simple and sweet floral design! Those Nordic blooms look like upside down hollyhocks to me!🙃 Hugs, Darnell
Perfect take on the Moodboard! I love that you stamped the leaves on the yellow with white, I really thought it was patterned paper at first look. Those Nordic blooms are so pretty, too.
I'm glad you chose that panel for inspiration because it looks so very pretty and reminds me how much I love white pigment ink on colored cardstock. Your card is cute and CAS and fabulous! On the other hand, I'm sorry your trip home was such a crummy ending to a wonderful vacation. Really odd about the airport closing up at 8:30, but I wonder if that's when the bad guys come out. One of these days you'll look back and see it all as a crazy adventure and one of many stories you'll tell again in the future. Glad you got home safely!
Love the simplicity of this Lisa - I like the balance you've created with the two sentiments and the dotty background is perfect! What a nightmare return from your holiday. You probably need another one to recover. I think we all have one of those awful plane journeys...mine was being kept sat on the tarmac for 5 hours before take off with my poor 80 year old grandmother many, many years ago!
I love everything you do with anything Nordic from Poppystamps, and this is no exception. I love everything about it - the background, your color choices, those wonderful blooms... Great take on that piece of the moodboard. I love it!
Your leaves stamped in white are wonderful! I love that set and you've inspired me to use it! Totally delightful card, Lisa! Your vacation travel home sounds like a nightmare to me and explains why I travel so little--not good at flexing, I guess. Happy you had a great time there and did finally make it home!
