I stenciled a rainbow of polka dots then framed it with an embossed panel to mimic the look of those pencils all lined up. I topped the heart off with a pinked heart frame.
That stubby little pencil (Stamps by Judith) reminds me of our son when he was about 8 years old. I saw him doing his homework one day with this itty bitty nub of a pencil. I said "Joey, I think we need to buy you some new pencils!" He said "Nooooo I like using this one! It's my favorite!" Yes, just in case you're wondering... I still have that pencil!!!
How will Carol's photo inspire you?
I look forward to finding out!

Sweet card Lisa and I love the pencil story! Reminds me of the Lisa Frank pencils my oldest used to hoard and I'm guessing she still has them somewhere! Haha!! Cute, cute card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
You've drawn inspiration from several elements of the mood board and combined them into a most delightful, creative, fun card. The polka-dots, the heart, the striped embossing, the little pencil: an array of wonderful!

Fun use of dots! Sweet card
What a clever take on the challenge. Love the ridged paper giving the feel of the pencils and the dot filled heart aperture. way to go.
Such a cute little polka-dot-y way to represent that mood board, Lisa!
Don't we save the darnedest things? I once showed my kids all the teeth the 'tooth fairy' had collected... they though it was the grossest thing imaginable!! [makes me wonder if they have done the same now that they are 'tooth fairies!'

Adorable card, Lisa, only topped by that adorable story!
Such a fun take on the challenge. The colored polka dots are fantastic, as is your embossed background, paying homage to the lined up pencils. Adorable, Lisa!
Awww, that's so sweet about the pencil. I have a large drawer dedicated to things like that. The memories are such fun! Of course you saw polka dots in those paints and you put your stencil and inks to work in the most delightful way! Love the ridged background, the little pencil... it's wonderfully inspired, Lisa!
Well of course you did, Lisa! Very creative use of the mood board, as always! Funny you have that pencil stub. I imagine it's just part of the keepsakes you'll pass down to Sweet P!
What a fun take on the mood board, Lisa! I love the stubby little pencil and the story about your son. So sweet that you actually kept the pencil!
