Just Us Girls #805

Hello lovelies! Elizabeth is hosting our Word Week challenge at Just Us Girls. What does the word ENCOURAGEMENT say to you? My cousin just lost her husband of 43 years. She's lived in another state for 30 years, but we grew up together. Family vacations, sleep overs, shopping trips, baton twirling... we were/are more than cousins. Her husband didn't want any type of service and she's honoring his wishes. These words of encouragement are for her.

I recently realized I've gotten away from stamping and use dies more often. Maybe it was just the business of the holidays and the busy year we've had with my dad's health issues. Dies are faster, I suppose. But I want to try to stamp and color more often this year. Dies are still great... don't get me wrong, I do love them!

With that thought in mind, I pulled out the Weekend Doodles Altenew set and got to work. Popped the flowers onto and embossed panel (thanks again, Sue!) with a vellum sentiment tag.

Now it's your turn. Be sure to stop by the blog for some inspiration from the DT and our guest designer, Lauren!

This is so very sweet, Lisa. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure your cousin is comforted knowing that you're always there for her.

I love this style of florals a lot and your embossing folder in the background just shows them off so well! Hoping this helps your sister have a moment of "pretty" in her days ahead.

Lisa... what a lovely, and a bit whimsical, card for your cousin. So sorry for your loss and hers. I agree that I seemed to have moved away from coloring (maybe why I colored as well this week), though I am not sure dies are easier. These days, dies are so layered that a card often requires significant work. Take care.

Wonderful to have had a cousin you were close to growing up. Must be hard not to be able to give her a hug when she's grieving. I think this beautifully colored card is the perfect way to send your love.

A pretty encouragement card Lisa. So sorry to hear of your cousin's loss. It is hard when you have been together for so long. My husband and I had 20-1/2 years together when I lost him. Back to your lovely cad. Your coloring looks wonderful on these pretty flowers. I am sure your cousin will appreciate it and your thoughts.
